One thing I am keenly working on is eating the right thing at the right time to always feel tip top. This can be difficult with a haphazard schedule and one thing I miss more than anything when I’m trying to only eat things that nourish the mind, body and soul is chocolate! I developed this little concoction as my chocolate fix and pick me up. It’s a great post workout recipe as it’s high in carbohydrates and protein and low in fats so it will quickly replenish your muscles leaving you fighting fit for your next session.

Ingredients:

  • 100g Dates
  • 50g Peanut butter
  • 50g Desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbsp Raw hemp seed protein (optional)
  • 1 heaped tbsp Raw Cacao
  • Pinch of Salt
  • A few table spoons of filtered water

Pop everything in the food processor until throughly mushed together, only add a table spoon of water at a time if you need it. Gauge by the consistency, it needs to be sticky enough to make balls not sloppy! Once your mixture is well combined roll out your balls, I usually get around 15 but just depends on how big you like them.

Place them in the fridge and pack them for a quick fix for when you need them most – I scoff them between classes and on the way home for the gym.
